ClassSense features, explained honestly

What each feature does today, and what it does not.

Teachers often search for a feature by name: flashcards, exit tickets, bell ringers, standards tracking. Some of those exist here in a different form and some do not exist at all. Every page below states which, in the first screen, and then describes the closest route that actually works.

The core of the product is the same across all of them: skill packs built from your upload, student practice, mastery tracking per student per skill, and a dashboard that tells you who needs you. Learning supports such as read aloud and focus mode are switched on by the teacher, one student at a time.

Quiz and assessment generatorGenerate quizzes and assessments from the curriculum you uploaded. Auto-graded, tied to specific skills, and they update each student's mastery as they go. Worksheet generatorGenerate worksheets, practice sets and task cards from the unit you uploaded, built from your published skill packs, with an answer key. Edit the file, then print or post it. Auto-gradingPractice and quizzes grade themselves as students answer, and each answer updates that student's mastery of a specific skill. No score entry, no red pen. Mastery trackingLive mastery per student per skill, heatmaps, gap analysis, and alerts when a student gets stuck. Built from work students already do, with no data entry. Classroom review gamesFour game formats built from the curriculum you uploaded. Students practice the skills you actually taught, and every answer still counts toward mastery. Parent portalA private portal showing each family their own child's mastery and activity, plus direct messaging with the teacher. Access is by teacher invite only. Study guide generatorGenerate revision material from the unit in your course: key terms, worked examples, misconceptions and practice, at the depth each student needs. Differentiated instructionEvery skill is written four ways: visual, experiential, reading and game framed. When a student keeps missing a concept, the explanation changes. Flashcards and study cardsClassSense has no flashcard mode. Here is what it offers instead (printable task cards, skill packs) and how to run flashcard-style review yourself. Exit ticketsClassSense has no exit ticket feature. See how to use a short Assessment or the mastery view as one, and what the ticket still needs from you. Bell ringersClassSense has no bell ringer or do-now feature. Here is how to build warm-ups from skill packs and Create Content, and what stays on you. Spiral reviewSpiral review brings old skills back before they fade. See how ClassSense's mastered-skill re-check works, where it is passive, and what you schedule yourself. Homework practice setsClassSense can make printable homework worksheets and gives students practice they can open at home, but it does not schedule or collect assignments. Test reviewUse the mastery grid to see which skills the class has not secured, then build practice tests, study guides and review games around only those. Read-aloud and accommodationsA plain list of the read-aloud and Learning Supports settings a teacher can turn on per student in ClassSense, and what they are not: not an IEP or 504 plan. Dyslexia-friendly practiceThe Reading support bundle in ClassSense: read-aloud, word highlighting, clearer fonts, spacing and tap-to-answer. Teacher-controlled, not a diagnosis or treatment. Focus supportsFocus mode, movement breaks, no timers and a calmer screen: the Learning Supports a teacher can set per student in ClassSense. No diagnosis, no clinical claims. Student progress reportsClassSense shows progress on a dashboard, a students grid, a parent portal and a weekly parent email. It has no printable or exportable report. Details here. Standards and learning targetsClassSense has no standards library and does not tag skills to standards. See what it does with your material and how to align skills to targets by hand. Mastery-based gradingHow ClassSense decides Struggling, Developing, Approaching and Mastered, how a teacher override works, and why grades are never synced to a gradebook.
