The parent email that starts "I had no idea he was behind" is not a failure of caring. It is a failure of visibility. Report cards arrive after the unit is over, which is exactly when nothing can be done about it.
What a parent sees
A parent joins with an invite code issued by the teacher, and sees their own child only: current progress, mastery by skill, and recent activity. They cannot see other students. There is no class ranking and no leaderboard of children.
A direct line, in one place
Parent and teacher messages live inside ClassSense, attached to the student they concern. That keeps the history in one place instead of scattered across a personal inbox, and it means the context is already on screen when you reply.
Access is yours to grant and revoke. Parent access runs on an invite you issue. If a custody situation or a safeguarding concern means a link should not exist, it does not exist.
Why this matters for the student
A parent who can see which specific skill is shaky can help with that skill. A parent who can only see a letter grade can only apply pressure. The first is useful and the second is the reason a lot of children start hiding their work.
Common questions
Can a parent see other children?
No. A parent sees only the child their invite is tied to.
How does a parent get access?
The teacher issues an invite code. Access exists only because a teacher created it, and it can be removed.
Is student data sold or advertised against?
No. There is no advertising in ClassSense and no ad trackers on the site. See the data practices page for the detail.
