Science teaching has a specific problem that most content tools ignore. Students do not arrive empty. They arrive with a confident, coherent, wrong model of how the world works, and teaching over the top of it does not remove it. The wrong model comes back on the test.
Misconceptions are a first-class object
Every skill pack ClassSense generates names the common misconceptions for that concept explicitly, not as a footnote. That is unusual in generated content, and it is deliberate: if you do not name the wrong model, practice just gives students more opportunities to rehearse it.
What uploads well
- Unit packets and lecture decks. Rich, sequenced, full of terminology. These produce the best packs.
- Lab handouts for the conceptual scaffolding around a practical, though the practical itself is yours.
- Reading guides and textbook chapters you have rights to use.
What does not
Diagrams do not survive extraction. A page whose meaning lives in a labelled diagram, a cell cross-section, a circuit, a phase change graph, extracts as the surrounding text only. The generated pack will be built from what was written, not what was drawn. For diagram-heavy units, expect to add that part yourself.
Where it earns the subscription
Science generates enormous volumes of routine practice: vocabulary, process sequences, unit conversions, reading data. That is the part that gets skipped at eleven at night, and it is the part that is fully automatic here, including the grading and the mastery update.
The four review game formats matter more in science than most subjects, because retrieval practice on terminology is exactly the thing students avoid doing voluntarily.
Common questions
Does it handle chemical equations and formulas?
Text-based notation extracts reasonably. Anything rendered as an image does not, which is a limitation of reading the document rather than of the generation.
Can it build labs?
No. It builds the conceptual work around a practical, not the practical itself. Safety and equipment decisions are yours.
Is it aligned to NGSS?
Not automatically. It follows the document you upload, so if your unit is NGSS aligned, what it generates follows that sequence.
