First years

ClassSense for first-year teachers

The real difference between you and the teacher across the hall is not skill. It is that they have fifteen years of materials in a filing cabinet and you are building every single thing from scratch.

That gap is why the first year is survivable rather than good, and why so many people leave inside five. It is not a knowledge problem. It is an inventory problem, and inventory is the one thing experience buys that nothing else does.

What this actually changes

Upload the unit you were handed, the textbook chapter, the scheme of work your department gave you, and you get back the practice, the retrieval, the review games and the assessment. Those are the four artefacts a veteran already has and you would otherwise build at eleven at night, badly, for the first time.

Use the review queue as training

Read the first packs properly. Do not rubber-stamp them. Generated content names common misconceptions for each concept, and for a new teacher that is genuinely useful professional information: it tells you where students are going to trip before they trip, which is the thing experience usually has to teach you the hard way.

Where it does not help

Behavior, relationships, reading a room, knowing when to abandon the plan. No software touches those and anyone selling you otherwise is wasting your money. What this buys you is time and attention to spend on them, by removing the part of the job that is production work.

The honest financial note

Nineteen dollars a month is real money on a first-year salary. Try one unit before you commit, ideally one you teach in the next two weeks, and judge it against what you would have built yourself at midnight.

Common questions

I have no materials of my own. Can I still use it?

You need something to upload: a textbook chapter, a department scheme of work, a unit packet you were given. It builds from a document rather than from nothing.

Will my department mind?

Everything generated waits for your approval, and it follows your department's sequence because it follows the document you gave it.

Is there a discount for new teachers?

Not currently. There is one price, nineteen dollars a month, with no per-student fees.

Start with one unit you already teach.

Upload it, see what comes back, and decide for yourself. Open beta for individual teachers, nineteen dollars a month, unlimited students.
