ClassSense vs Blooket: which one, or both?

Blooket is the one students ask for. ClassSense is the one that tells you who is stuck and on what. They are rarely competing for the same slot in your week.

Blooket has a loyal student following for a good reason: it is free to start and the games are fun. If a teacher asks whether to drop it for something else, the first question back is what Blooket is not giving them.

Source note. Blooket facts here come from blooket.com and its upgrade page, read in October 2026. Check them again before you rely on any limit or price.

What Blooket is built around

Its homepage describes a simple loop: find a question set in its library or create your own, choose a game mode, play live or asynchronously, then read the report at the end of the game. It says its gameplay is designed for students from early elementary to high school. The question set is the center of everything, so a lot of Blooket's value is the number of sets that already exist and the variety of ways to play them.

As of October 2026 its upgrade page lists a Starter plan that is free forever, with sets, game modes, set search, up to 60 players and homework deadlines of up to 14 days. Plus is listed at $4.99 a month charged yearly ($59.88), adding exclusive game modes, question-by-question and per-student reports, folders, audio questions, copying sets, up to 300 players and homework deadlines up to 365 days. A month-to-month Plus Flex plan is listed at $9.99.

Where Blooket is the better choice

What ClassSense does differently

ClassSense starts from a document, not a set. Upload the unit you teach from (PDF, DOCX or PPTX) and it builds up to ten skill packs. A pack is more than questions: a three-depth explanation, worked examples, named misconceptions, and practice whose wrong options are tied to those misconceptions. Students play four games (Never Look Down, Arena Brawl, Deep Dig and Escape Lab) built from that content, and every answer feeds a mastery status per student per skill. You see it as a grid on the Students tab and as a short list of students who need you.

The practical difference shows up on a Wednesday. A Blooket report can show you which questions were missed. ClassSense adds a label to the miss: the wrong option a student picked belongs to a named misconception, such as "evaporation only happens when water boils", so the group you pull for a mini-lesson is organized around the idea, not just the question number.

A sensible split

The two overlap on one thing, retrieval practice, and that is a feature, not a conflict. Students pulling the same ideas out of memory in two different settings is good for keeping them. Our page on review games goes into how to place a game in the week.

Who should not switch. If you want the least expensive tool that gets students excited about review, Blooket already does that. ClassSense is $19 a month after 30 free days (no card), has no live hosted game, no LMS sync, and its practice is multiple choice. It does not replace the fun-day game. It earns its place only if you want the mastery record. If you are weighing several tools, the comparison of AI teaching tools sorts them by the job they do. The pricing page has the details.

Common questions

Can I move my Blooket question sets into ClassSense?

Not as an import. ClassSense builds from a PDF, Word or PowerPoint document. If your set started as a unit document, upload that.

Does ClassSense have a live game with a lobby?

No. Students join a course with a class code and play on their own device at their own pace.

Are the ClassSense games as varied as Blooket's?

No. ClassSense has four: Never Look Down, Arena Brawl, Deep Dig and Escape Lab. Blooket describes a larger and growing set of modes.

Can I use both with the same class?

Yes. Many teachers keep a game site for review days and use ClassSense for ongoing skill practice and the mastery grid.
