Terms of Service

Effective July 7, 2026

These terms govern your use of ClassSense (the website at classsense.org and the ClassSense application). By creating an account or using the service, you agree to them.

1. The service (and its beta status)

ClassSense turns teacher-uploaded curriculum into adaptive, game-based lessons with automatic mastery tracking. The service is currently in an invite-only beta: features may change, and occasional interruptions or rough edges are part of the deal. We'll do our best to warn you before any change that affects your classes.

2. Accounts

3. Teacher responsibilities for student data

Teachers (or their schools) control the class rosters they create. By inviting students, you confirm you have the authority — under your school's policies and applicable law, including FERPA and COPPA — to enroll those students and to consent to the collection of their information as described in our Privacy Policy.

4. Your content

You own the curriculum materials you upload. You grant ClassSense a license to store and process them solely to provide the service — generating lessons, practice items, games, and assessments for your classes. We claim no other rights in your materials.

5. AI-generated content

Lessons, questions, and teaching materials generated by ClassSense are produced by AI from your curriculum. They're designed to be classroom-ready, but AI can make mistakes: you're responsible for reviewing generated content before relying on it for instruction or grading decisions. The review queue exists for exactly this purpose.

6. Acceptable use

Don't misuse the service. That includes: attempting to access other users' data, uploading content you don't have rights to, uploading malicious files, harassing others through messaging features, scraping the service, or using it for anything unlawful. Student nicknames and class-wall posts must be appropriate for a classroom; we may moderate or remove content that isn't.

7. Pricing

The beta is currently free for invited teachers. When paid plans launch (posted at classsense.org), we'll give existing beta users clear notice and a fair transition — no surprise charges.

8. Termination

You can delete your account at any time (see the Privacy Policy for data deletion). We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, with notice where practical.

9. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

ClassSense is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by law, ClassSense and its operator will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, and total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the service in the twelve months before the claim (or $50 if you paid nothing).

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which ClassSense's operator resides, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.

11. Changes to these terms

If we make material changes, we'll notify account holders by email before they take effect. Continued use after that date means you accept the updated terms.
